PTO Meeting Minutes February 13th, 2024
Call to Order: Meeting called to order by President Andrew Sharp at 6:37pm. Old Business: Previous meeting minutes are posted on the website.
Treasurer Report: by Amanda McKey January 1st thru February 12th. Beginning balance was $3655.78. Two deposits from Spirit Wear and Kroger, and one reimbursement for school dance supplies paid out. Ending balance of $4374.94. Moved, seconded, voted and approved.
Upcoming Events: No school on 2/19, No school on 3/5, half day of school 3/8, Spring Break 3/11 thru 3/15.
Event Recaps: Staff Appreciation breakfast last week of school before winter break. Chick-fil-A, fruit, and coffee. Last week was School Counselor Appreciation Week. Special thanks to our Counselor Ms. Norah Ryan!
Updates: There were some quality and reprinting issues with some of the Spirit Wear. Refunds along with the reprinted items are being issued to those affected. PTO is working on getting proper approvals to use a new vendor that will enable purchases for a variety of designs, and spirit items, throughout the school year. More information to come when approvals have been completed.
Staff Report: by Ms. Hardin stated the staff is loving seeing all the parents who come and eat lunch with the new Chop and Chat program. She discussed all the school wide displays, daily trivia, and upcoming assembly for celebrating Black History Month. Classes will have their Valentine’s Day parties tomorrow, and Shipley Donuts is about to begin rewarding students with good grades with free donuts. The 5th grade students will be participating in the Mini Book Battle. There are eleven schools participating. Pennington will be represented by students at the competition on April 5th.
Enbright Credit Union: Representatives from Enbright Credit Union handed out applications and will be at the school tomorrow going from class to class with rescue dogs and explaining how to join the credit union, as well as how students can build great money saving practices and financial literacy.
New Business: Moved, seconded, voted, and passed to have another skate night at Rivergate Skate in April.
Exact date to be determined. Moved, seconded, voted, and passed to have a Spirit Night with the Donelson Pizza Hut. Date to be determined.
Upcoming possible events to be held for the students were discussed and the possibility of Kona Ice, video game truck, popsicles, bounce houses and carnival games, etc.
