PTO Meeting Minutes
Feb 18, 2025
Call to Order: Meeting called to order by President Andrew Sharp.
Treasurer Report: January balance is $5132.70. Publix check received for $270.13.
New Business: Glow Dance will need volunteers to sign up on PlanHero . Slight changes have been made for the night of the dance to help it be more efficient. There will be a Skate Night with Rivergate Skate April 9th from 6-8pm. The cost will be $9 per person which includes skate rental. Spirit Night with Whitt’s BBQ has been approved and will be May 25th from 4-7pm and 20% from total sales will come back to Pennington. Teacher appreciation week will be May 5-9. Please think about anything we can do for the staff and if you have any contacts for potential donations to the staff please let us know. Andrew met with the new Rep for Kona Ice/ Tom’s Coffee about the cost and opportunities to have them come to the school. The cost to give each student and staff a Kona Ice would be approximately $1100 dollars. We will look into the possibility closer to Field Day. 5th grade t-shirts have been delivered and will be distributed this week. The 5th grade field trip is still planned and the PTO moved, voted, and passed to help supplement the cost by giving $500.
Accomplishments: The Belmont Basketball fundraiser sold 28 tickets and we will receive $140.
Principals Report: The book vending machine fundraiser is being worked on to submit to MNPS as proposed by Officer Snowden last meeting. The plan is to raise enough to purchase and stock the machine as soon as feasible. We should be hearing if we will receive the Garden Grant soon, and the school will continue to apply for Grants to help achieve the visions laid out in previous meetings.
Staff Report: TCAP testing will be held April 14th-25th. Parent volunteers will be needed to help Proctor the tests. If you are available please contact Mrs. Hardin.
