PTO Meeting Minutes
March 18, 2025

Called to Order: Meeting was called to order by President Andrew Sharp at 6:32pm.
Treasurer Report: Presented by Treasurer Amanda McKey. Full report posted, current balance is $6,535.78.
Budget Breakdown and Comparison: Presented by Kirstin Sharp and full report posted.
Upcoming Events:

  • Spirit Night at Whitt’s BBQ Donelson location Tuesday March 25th from 4-7pm. 20% of total sales will be donated to Pennington PTO.
  • Skate Night at Rivergate Skate April 9th.
  • Teacher and Staff appreciation week will be May 5-9th. 
New Business: Officer and Board Elections will begin at the next meeting. To nominate someone or yourself email the pto. We MUST have a President, Treasurer, and Secretary to continue to operate a PTO for Pennington Elementary. Discussed a breakdown of the ticket sales for the Glow Dance.
Principals Report: Presented by Dr Mallory, Pennington Elementary has been awarded the STEAM Captain Planet Garden Grant. K, 1st, and 5th grades will participate in a chicken hatching project. The online site is up and running for the fifth grade field trip. Dr. Battle and her staff visited Pennington last Monday. The visit went very well. Promising Scholars will be at Pennington this summer and registration is opened now. Officer Snowden who proposed to get a Book vending machine for incentives and grow the love of reading has been working to raise  the needed funds. He is up to $3500 of the needed $6000.
Teachers Report: Presented by Ms. Hardin. There will be no parents allowed to proctor for the upcoming TCAP  tests. Thanks to all the parents who reached out to volunteer. School is going well and having a great year.
